Join Our Volunteer Advisory Board

Call for Mentors & Advisers – Help and guidance for a place-based community network in Dundee.

We’re building something meaningful at DDCommons and we’re looking for experienced, curious, and community-minded people to help guide the project.

We’re inviting mentors and advisers to join a volunteer advisory board to support our growth, thinking, and direction. Whether your background is in technology, community building, governance, design, research, sustainability, business, or something else entirely, your perspective could make a real difference.

What involvement looks like:

• Offering strategic advice and constructive feedback
• Sharing expertise and experience
• Occasional discussions or check-ins (lightweight commitment)
• Helping us avoid blind spots and grow responsibly

Where we especially need help right now:

At the moment, we’d particularly value guidance or hands-on advice around:

• Local server networking / infrastructure
• UniFi network setup & interface management
• Practical small-scale network design and troubleshooting

If you have experience in these areas, your input could be immediately impactful.

Location & format:

• In-person participation in Dundee would be amazing
• Remote / online advisers are very welcome

This is not an operational responsibility but commitment to occasional conversations, advice, and perspective, skill-sharing where appropriate and feasible.

This is an opportunity to contribute to an open, community-driven initiative and help shape a project designed for long-term public benefit.
